Question to all you wonderful woodcarvers. How many of you have carved a Nativity Scene?
I've had the honor of doing several. The one that I did for our church was in keeping with a request I had from our old bishop which was anytime I carved the Blessed Mother to have her holding the Baby Jesus. So our church Nativity Scene the manger in empty and the Blessed Mother holding the Baby Jesus out presenting Him to us.
Many years ago I carved the Nativity Scene for our home. It is out of different types of mahogany. A few years ago we lost the Baby Jesus so I had to carve another.
I've also done some large plywood painted Nativity Scenes for outdoor displays.
It would be nice to hear about any Nativity Scenes that you've done.
May the Peace of Christmas be with you all and have a Blessed New Year.
