[Woodcarver] ?Nativity Scene?

Joe,

I carved several Nativity Scenes, none my own design.

1) One is like the old time cardboard punch-out cowboy and Indian sets we
had when we were kids, very thin with a cardboard base. This Nativity has
figures 1/8" thick and 4" tall, each with a base to stand on. Instead of
the traditional 3 camels with the wise men, it has a camel, an elephant and
a Persian horse (much to the dismay of my traditional wife).

2) I carved a 3 piece basic set with no facial features from a beginner's
carving book. This was very easy to carve, perfect for beginners.

3) Also, another carved 3-piece set from the North Woods Nativity book.

4) Several others were scroll sawed including one that is 2" x 5.5" that
includes Mary, Joseph, Jesus, an angel, 3 wise men, a shepherd, a sheep, a
palm tree, a stable backdrop, several stable animals, a mountain, sky and a
star.

A member of my carving club, Yorkarvers, has over 80 Nativities and over 500
angels, although some are purchased, many are carved.

Thanks for asking,

Dave Andreychek
