Sally,
I would guess that Helmut Mayr is well acquainted with the Crib carvers and their associations. Stefan Lanthaler is from Fulpmes, as I recall. I'm sure Heli would know him.

It brings a new perspective to "the Nativity" in it's entirety. Yes, it was a real place within a village.
