Thanks David.
You got me thinking.
I want to use the chair for chip carving and to use at a desk.
The most comfortable chair we have is, wait for it, one I made out of a
whiskey barrel. When the weather is dry well not raining I can sit on the
patio in that barrel seat for long periods. If I took some measurements
from that it would be a guide. From the ground to the seat would at least
be right.
My rear end fortunately does not fill the interior of the barrel.

I remember something I read in a book by a chairmaker.
The important measurement is from the back of your knees to the base of your
neck. The chair seat plus back should measure the same as this measurement
if you want to be comfortable.
Something for you to think about.
Cheers
David

Thanks Steve that's at start.
Experience has taught me one thing if nothing else.
Ask before I start.
