Don't know what to tell you, Jan. I was trying to generate a response
even if it was "chat." Humor doesn't always work (Email) although I
think I've met most everyone on this list in person so they know me.
;-)

I've been on this list near it's beginning. I was a chip carver & kept
a low profile for a long time. There were some real wars back then &
chip carvers were not appreciated by some. (smiling) As I recall, this
was the first internet list for woodcarvers. So, of course, it went
through some growing pains. We are a huge diverse group: carving
styles, cultures, etc. etc. It speaks well that this list has
survived!!!

There are several lists associated with woodcarving nowadays. But the
"heavy weights" of woodcarving are on THIS list. If someone has a
topic/subject where they really need to dig for information they will
find it here. There is a ton of talent on this list. I think that is
why our numbers are high. People read. They are not eager to write
but they do read. I think this list is more serious than the others
and that is one reason I prefer it.

Yes, I would like to see more posts. I don't post much because I am
more interested in the historical styles of woodcarving and what it
represents. I love the research and preservation of history, as well
as actually doing the carving. I am one that needs to have a "passion"
for what I am carving. I quite often feel like the "strange one" in
this league. But I really appreciate what others are carving and like
to know their thoughts on issues.

Other than every one just being so-o-o busy, don't have any answers on
lack of posts.

Just some ramblings.
Best
Sally

I am serious Sally and I did NOT call a person or persons DULL
I called the LIST DULL
Very little traffic when you take in consideration of 700+ members
If every body wood write ones every 2 months to the list to report on
their
carving projects there wood be 350 "E"a month
That adds up to 12 "E" a day AND what do we get????????
SOOOOO How can we revitalize this great and very useful list ???
Any suggestions ANYONE???
