[Woodcarver] anyone have an idea how to make catopla wood stand out n sharp and shiney

anyone have an idea how to make catopa wood look really sharp and stand out as I have a stylized Swan just about done and will need to put eyes in it and will leave the wook grains showing. Have no idea what to use around the eyes so they stay in as well.
