All- I am a seldom poster myself although I greatly enjoy the list. Due to computer security issues, I was unable to access it for some time, but by resetting the way I received it to the "digest" format, I can at least read what all you folks are saying! The list has been a wonderful resource for me over the years and I have always rec'd prompt replies to any and all queries. So, in Jan's honor, I'll start the New Year off right w/ a legitimate post!
I am serious Sally and I did NOT call a person or persons DULL
Woodbutcher Jan
Jan-
what ARE you calling dull? My gouges?...my bench knife? How can you say these things!!... :>) Awesome sheep, by the way. You continually post carvings that raise the bar for poor humble "wood hogs" like myself!
Maura carvin' in nyc-
Do people REALLY sell tools? I just seem to collect more and more of them!

For the island part of my carving "The Chesapeake", I used cat litter and yellow wood glue. Slathered it on and waited for it to dry. Used matte Krylon over it all to make sure it stayed put, and it looked pretty realistic. How's things in PA?
...and to Richard, the carver w/ 5 carvings under his belt- Well Done! Very impressive! I think my 1st five ended up as kindling!
I have never tried a duplicator.
Gentle list owner- wonderful job you do w/ the list Bill. It is much appreciated.
Everyone- Best to you and yours throughout the New Year!
