I posted not too long ago that I am new to list, new to carving (about 5 years) and I ask your honest opinion and critique of some the the liturgical artwork that has been added to the chancel area of my parish. I did these out of Spanish Cedar and I will not use that again the people who commissioned me wanted a nice "sheen" to the pieces. I did the lettering on Basswood on a scroll saw which is the first time I've ever used one and that made for an interesting experience as well.

I have to do 8 more carvings to go ont the 8 sides the baptismal font and am in the process of drawing them up right now with each one being 6" x 9". Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated on the work and the space and the work that I still have to do. There are some other things that we added that I did some work on including the new top for our baptismal font, but I didn't carve it! Anyways, thanks for taking the time and being honest...again I am fairly new to this art form and was extremely nervous doing this project for my church. Thanks!
