Carvers

I took the time to read the report the whole way through and found it to be quite interesting.
It seems that according to this review in the end the Jet won out over the Tormek. It will be interesting to follow up on this topic.

All:

I read the first part of the comparison report, and the website admits
this paper was an internal Tormek document, not intended for
publication. It strikes me that this is basically a technical sales
report, "why Tormek is better than Jet" and written for their sales
staff and distributors to downplay the product Jet has produced.

In and of itself, this is neither a fair nor accurate comparison then
and we should read it as such! Tormek is NOT going to mention features
that Jet offers and Tormek does not, nor will it admit shortcomings that
the Tormek may have in the eyes of the owners.

I have neither grinder but it seems to me, knowing the many products
that Jet produces, and that consistantly rank high in tool tests, that
the grinder they have come out with is likely to be a very good product.
It offers a lower price and I would, if considering either one, wait
until there is an accurate and impartial review of the two machines side
by side. Tormek's price may not indicate a better machine, it might
only indicate a one-of-a-kind product for many years and now they have
been challenged by another company ready to provide an excellent
alternative.

I could swear I have seen a review of the Jet grinder in some
publication, but a quick review of several magazine indexes didn't turn
it up yet.
