Bing,

If I might make a suggestion, buy a couple of old working cuckoos rather than buy the movement, bellows, wires and weights. I have been repairing these critters for over 20 years and they can be fun to get the linkage set up right at times!

Many old clocks have damaged carvings. The carvings normally come off with a few nails and then you can make anything you wish to replace it with and not have the problems of making it run right. I am not saying that the carving part is the easy part but making the case from scratch and installing everything right is a whole different ball game!

Does anyone have any plans for a basic Cookoo Clock? I plan on making some this spring and working on my design. But you need you know the basics first. I've found several good German suppliers of weights and works but if you know of any links sent them up. Thanks bing
