[Woodcarver] Wood to carve spoons for cooking

Yes, you shouldn't use nut woods for anyone allergic to nuts.

Cherry is the best wood to use......isn't as porous as basswood so
doesn't stain as easily.

Anything used for butcher blocks is good to use.......it is a
combination of beeswax and food grade mineral oil.
