Lori:
If you are on the Macintosh platform, OS X, then the solution is
simple... use iMovie (part of the iLife package of applications) to
edit the movie clips into a finished video. It's a slick and powerful
application that allows you to integrate movie clips, music, still
photos and a wide range of effects, titles and transitions.
I've made four movies recently, using my Sony Camcorder, in natural
light, with really good results. My camera comes with a remote
control that allows me to make video recording a one-person
operation. My video camera also has a viewing LCD that can be turned
forward so that I can watch myself taking video of myself. VERY useful!!
For information about video formats for the web, simply do a google
search on "internet video formats". The first link you will find is:
http://www.w3schools.com/media/media_videoformats.asp
There are other good sites, as well. Remember that those people with
Macintosh computers and OSX are already set up to view most of the
standard video formats. PC owners must configure their computers
intentionally. Others on the List can give you advice on PC
compatible video formats.
Hope this helps,
Bill
