Wow!  Thanks for all the great responses.  Mike thanks for the suggested 
tool list.  I am looking forward to some quality carving time. Of course, 
now I am gonna feel a little bad about leaving Theresa behind to manage the 
household and kids while I am away working all day and carving all night! 
I'll have to find a way to handle all this guilt.  ;-)

The other great thing about having my new position, is that I'll be able to 
take the severance $ and pay down our fairly significant debt load, AND pick

up some Swiss Made carving gouges from Woodcraft before the end of the 
month. They appear to be getting ready to raise prices after the end of Jan,

but they are also having a deal that for every $100 you spend on Pfiel 
carving tools you get a $25 gift card - essentially a 25% discount. 
Yippie!!!  So I am thinking of picking up a nice selection of mallet tools 
for relief carving (which Theresa and I are really looking to get into).

So this has turned into a HUGE blessing in disguise.  Thank you Lord!!!

PS: Mike - I gave the bark woodspirit that I started in your class at NEWR 
to my mom for Christmas. She LOVED it. Of course - she is my mom.  But she 
said my uncle has been raving about it and he never likes ANYTHING.  So 
thanks Mike.   Haven't gotten a chance to try a native Amer flute yet. 
Someday I'll get around to it.
