Barney
In my tool box with the lid closed, one block (1-1/2" by 1-1/2" by 1/2") it would last over a year. I also would put one on top of each of my power tools and covered them with a homemade plastic tool cover and they would last about 6 months in the open air under the plastic cover. I never experienced any rust or corrosion on any of my tools.

The idea is not mine, but I read about it in an old wood working book. I did a Google search and it seems that Camphor was one of the first desiccants used and is apparently used extensively in China.

Blessings and Peace
Lynn

Camphor blocks are an intriguing idea.

How long do they last?

is there a rule of thumb as to how many to use for a given amount of volume in the box?

Thanks

Barney
