I just uploaded my lastest carving, a 30" relief of Luther's Coat of Arms - otherwise know as "Luther's Rose".


This is for a Lutheran church in Massachusetts.


The symbols are as follows:
The cross of Christ - black
The heart of God - red
The Messianic Rose - white
The heavenly realm - blue
Eternity - gold


I used acrylic paint, top coated with sanding sealer and then paste wax. The only part of the carving that remains natural wood in the background behind the lettering.


I would appreciate your comments on this carving, as usual.

The "Gadgets" gallery will contain images of carving holders, dust collectors, benches, hand-made tools, home-made sharpening systems and the like. Everything in this gallery should be home-made, and represent that "flash" of ingenuity that startles ordinary folk like you and I from time to time. Use this gallery to display your gadget and to explain - briefly - what it does. Links to remote web sites are welcome if you wish to extend your explanation and provide more images.
