Woodcraft supply sells a center finder like the one I have. It is:

Zero Zero Center Finder #02J14, It sells for $8.50.

I've had mine for quite a few years and use it for turning and some carving.


Also, if you draw a lot of lines on the diameter (use a straight edge and
your best guess), you will end up with a very good approximation of the
center.

How do you find the center of a dowel? It seems like it should be easy, but
the answer is eluding me.
