OK Jan:

It's SPRING. S_P_R_I_N_G!!
Outside chores, sunshine, friends talking over backyard fences, cold  
beer in the late afternoon, lawnmowers buzzing down the street...
I realize that as carvers we are expected to "EAT, SLEEP, CARVE"...  
but it's spring!!! <big grin>

Truth be told...
I just finished a small processional cross... the second such  
commission in a row. This one is also two sided.
Will post pictures soon.

I am also in the design stage for a carving commission.
Theme: 2 Chronicles 2:5,6. Try reading that passage while imagining  
what you could carve with that as your theme.

I've struggled with this task for two weeks now... but yesterday,  
facing the thought of blank-minded hours standing at the light table,  
I decided to pray for guidance for this carving. "It's your word,  
Lord... now reveal to me how I should carve it".  Without  
exaggeration, no sooner had I prayed than I knew what I needed to do  
for this carving and why. I went to the light table and started the  
design. In one more day the pattern will be complete.

It's that way for me when I carve. When I need special direction and  
inspiration, God gives it freely. Otherwise I could not take on the  
commissions that come my way.

I'll show you the finished carving, OK?
