Jan-
I never notice to which list/group/forum I'm responding- so I must have answered you on the other group instead of this one.
Obviously we have all been so busy with carving related projects that we haven't been spending enough time on the computer. lol
I spent last week teaching carving for the Texas Woodcarvers' Guild, in Fredricksburg. It was a fantastic week with lots of great students. The biggest class was 9 for the Swallowtail Butterfly Pin one-day class. Boy was I ever running around making sure that they all finished on time. It was a kick.
Since then I've been putting away all the stuff I carry to these things. Between materials for my classes, extra blanks to sell, I promoted Carving Magazine, the Carving Cruise, Carve-Fest, and my book. Sold 13 books too- not bad. Here is a link to some photos of the students and their projects:
http://community.webshots.com/user/donpbk 2007 is on the second page.
Now, I've got everything back in place and I'm finishing up the projects I worked along with the students but didn't quite finish- like the butterfly. Then, believe it or not, I managed to buy a couple more blanks from other teachers- will I ever learn! They will wait though until I finish painting a bird carving for a friend who cannot do it herself, and get the Emily carving done. I want to get that Emily Blog finished up before the dog gets too old to pose for me.
Oh, and some book signings to get ready for, but other than that I've just been hanging around, fixing fences and animal pens- the usual.
Thanks for asking-
