You betcha. Saves a lot of time especially when the design is complex. An iron does not do the job- I tried. You must use a copy from a copier that uses toner, wax based only will transfer. Most commercial units use this type of toner.
Because it is wax based it will leave a residue that is just about permanent. You cannot erase it. You can thin it with solvent and then sand away the rest.
I used it extensively on the church logo chest on my web site under Miscellaneous Woodworking, and on the Bamboo Boxes in the book.

Has anyone used that heat transfer tool to apply patterns directly
onto the wood?. I guess it looks like a burner pen with a flat disk
on the end and you "iron" the pattern onto the wood from a photocopy.
I wanted to get some feedback from anyone that may have used one
before I purchased one.
God Bless,
John G.
