That was a fun show. Inspiring, to say the least. I looked up the book he referenced- The Nature and Art of Workmanship, by David Pye, and it seems to be valued highly by all- very expensive.

I just finished watching an episode of Roy Underhill's  The
Woodwright's Shop.  It was fantastic!  He rambles for 27 minutes in a
single take, no project this time just the zen of work, tools, and a
bit of Darth Vader and the Dali Lama.  It even has a bit of carving
involved.
