Subject: Re: [Woodcarver] Bonfire of the Dog Carvings

Browsing through the Woodcraft Shop catalog, I noticed some books on dog
carving by the noted carver Tom Wolfe. I like to read reviews of books before
buying them, so I went to Amazon.com and checked the comments on his "90
Patterns for Dog Carvers." A lady named Lila Leed gave it a very negative
review. She noted that she had loved "Bonfire of the Vanities" and Tom Wolfe's
other novels, but "90 Patterns for Dog Carvers" was nothing like them. I guess
the plot was lacking and the characterization weak. This is one case where you
can tell a book by its cover which says "A Book For Woodcarvers."
