Hello all,

I'm looking for historians/preservationists of "old symbols with
meaning". People who enjoy in-depth research of the meanings behind
the symbols of the Old World folk arts. These folks would search
through archival documents, have them translated, and follow the
trail to who-knows-where. They would also be interested in the old
tools used during those early times.

These old symbols are found on walking stickings, treenware,
furniture, buildings, and you name it. We've found these symbols
cross many boundaries: including language, ethnic, spiritual,
religious, etc. They could range from pre-viking to today. Because
they were done by the common person, there may not be much
documentation...therefore, the deep dig.

We heard many times that when people understand the background/
meaning of a symbol, (celtic knot or whatever) it brings passion to
their work.

I would really like to connect with like-minded people who have done
similar to our historic preservation of the fan-bird. Please feel
free to contact me off-list.

Thank you
Sally
