Steve,

You asked this question inside another thread, so I took the liberty of
changing the message title to better match it.

For on-line, free tutorials on barcarving try an article from way back in
the WOM archives by Tony Wispinski.

Then at Sue and Mike Irish's place there's:

Not bark carving, but directly applicable to carving woodspirits in
cottonwood bark. The same goes for John Jellies tutorial at the Dusty
Mustache:

John's site links wasn't working when I wrote this reply, but keep trying.
Hopefully the server was temporarily down.

As far as books goes:

Carving Tree Bark by Rick Jensen and Jack Williams is my favorite for bark
and gnome homes (especially after having met Rick) and Carving Found Wood
has a step-by-step woodspirit specifically in cottonwood bark, but 80% of
the rest is a gallery, not instructional.

Keep on Carvin'

Hi All...

Are there any good tutorials on cottonwood bark carving? I have a chance at
getting some bark and thought I'd give it a go. Have a safe Labor Day
weekend....

Best Regards,

Steve
