Thanks Joe!
I think the lightness of color would be great to use for blush on faces. Putting it on paper first would save the mess in the container with the residue. Another one I shall try and see how it goes. Hey, you guys have fun next week ?? when I am working and can't come to your place for the GOP!!

Donna is correct in that pastels are pure pigment with some binders. They have been tested and rated for fade resistance the same as artist paints. I've use pastels for putting a blush on a face and other areas like lips where I just adding a hint of color without it being noticeable. I generally apply it by rubbing the pastel on a paper then using a small stiff brush to lift it off the paper and apply it to the carving. I scrub it into the surface with a stiff brush and burnish it lightly so it is bound well enough to stay in place when the first coat of sealer is applied.
