Joan,

Armond lives in Rhode Island and is still carving. He does mostly
commission work. the last I saw was his carving of an elderly Indian
medicine woman (I think that was her title) for Mohegan Sun casino in
nearby CT. I'm sure he gets more than a few dollars each for his work!

He is also responsible for carving the Woodcraft Supply Indian in their
logo about 30 years ago and has only improved his skills since. Sorry I
can't point you to more of his work, but WCI did several articles on him
in the past. Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding magazines also have
done articles on him. Yes, he built his own RI Stone Ender style house,
one end solid stone, 3 stories, and the rest post and beam woodworking
with handmade doors and windows. It is as authentic and you can get and
still have indoor plumbing and electricity.

All the best, Vic H
