That is so awesome Bill....857 people....just shows what a few like minded people can do when they put their minds to it!!!  
I am new to the carving world as most of you know but the welcoming and help and guidance I have received has been purely astounding.  So what I am about to write will attest to the PURE GREATNESS of this list that Bill has so graciously allowed us to become part of.
  
For example, when I went to the Florida Wood Carvers Roundup, I could not believe the help and open arms welcome I got from everyone. But mostly from Jack Miller and Pete LeClair.  Jack I cant thank you enough for letting me sit in and listen to you teach your painting class, all your tips and hints sadly as you know I could not get there on the Friday to actually do the carving but your help, experience and guidance I received from you I will be forever grateful and to Pete LeClair who was absolutely flabbergasted that I had come all the way from Canada just to meet him.  Pete's kindness and generosity was overwhelming from the gifts of the blank for "Mr Dunta Fanutta" and the companion CD Rom to go with it, to your pointers and tips for my Ron Wells knife, to the alleged free time he had on his lunch where he carved a caricature face for my 10mos old son which he signed to my son for that I cannot thank you enough.  To John Dunkle whom I had never met nor talked to before but only heard about him from other people, I thank you for the personal knife and tool Sharpening 101 class that you gave me and no charge at that, so I came home with all super sharp carving tools, thank you also John for bolstering my confidence on my 5pc set of carving tools that are not so bad after all(Professional Chinese Set) I truly appreciate it.  To Jan the Woodbutcher....John told me to give a big Hello to you!!!! 

So again, this will attest to the greatness of this list and our 857 members for without it I would never have met or talked to any of you or had any for this kindness bestowed upon myself and my family
