Hello Jeff,
I use my airbrush to spray shellac, lacquer and polyurethane finishes on my chip carvings. The Badger airbrush I have is perfect for this and would easily handle your needs. It comes with three tips and cleans easily. You (and anyone else who is interested) can email me directly and I'll send you the Badger airbrush model number. Marty at MyChipCarving.com

I think your comressor is actually better than the airbrush compressors they sell. I use my Makita 2 gallon compressor and it is just right. Runs quiet and can easily used for more than just airbrushing. I run my Senco nailers from it and it will drive quite a few nails before recharging.

The tiny airbrush compressors, while very portable, have to recharge all the time if they have a small tank and run continually when spraying if they don't have a tank. Cost for my Makita was about the same as a medium quality airbrush compressor so it was a no-brainer for me. My suggestion to anyone looking for an airbrush setup would be to get a portable Makita or Senco compressor like you and I have. Again, anyone can email me if you'd like the model number and price details of my Makita compressor.

Good luck!
Marty

Fellow Carvers, this is my first question.
I am a Caracture Carver.
At a recent show I watched a portion of a Airbrush Demo.
It was facinating!
Does anyone have experience airbrushing and have any imput about how it works or doesn't work on caractures.

Any suggestions on equipment?
Will my Senco compressor for my bradnailer work for air brushing? It's 1 horsepower, 1.5 gal tank. Has the pressure, but does it have the volume of air needed?

Thanks for the interest and responses. I am leaving in the morning for a work week away from my computer, but will be interest in the response tonight and when I return.
