Jack has posted the ³Operating Guidelines² on the Eagle Cane Project website
at

http://eaglecaneproject.thelewislink.com

Click on ³Operating Guidelines² on the left side and you will get them.
Individual groups may impose their own particular embellishments, but I am
sure the Veteran who receives the cane will appreciate it regardless. They
seem to look more at the thought behind the gift than at the quality or how
fancy it may be. I have never received a complaint from any of the
recipients I have sent canes to.

Denny

Dear Carving Friends

Carving canes for our troops has become a club and also individual project,
across our nation. I think that is wonderful. However there seems to be a
lot of controversy as to what is the correct carving format or allowable
features incorporated in each cane.

Does any one have a copy of the "Cane Standard' or "Regulations" as to what
is allowed or not allowed, etc.?

Why is it a problem to just do a great cane and donate it to some deserving
man or woman "Troop" who could benefit from its use, in a small gesture of
our appreciation?

If anyone has, or knows of this standard, would they please share it with
me?

I belong to two (2) carving clubs and the information would be greatly
appreciated.

Thank you very much, Sincerely Bob Muller, Pawling NY a/k/a
