Just MTCW, but I would vote for the dolphin project as well... natural AND
painted versions. Then, just to make life harder on you, the orca would be
great painted AND natural as well. Only, with the natural orca you could
bleach the white areas. Don't bleach 'em white... just bleach them lighter.
Ya know? Throw some new techniques at those cocky intermediates <G>.

Keep on Carvin'

I need some advice. I've worked myself into a corner and don't know how to
get out. I have made 4 marine creatures and I'm not sure what to do with
them. Originally I was going to use them for a magazine article, as well as
projects on the next carving cruise, and then teach classes and sell blanks
and instructions- as usual.
I got the 3 first ones done, and then realized that they didn't look good
together, and were not even all fish, (Orca are marine mammals, ie,
dolphins). And they were very difficult to make. I had planned to make this
an article on making EASY fishies. I failed.
So then I figured that I could make an easy dolphin. I decided to make one
in butternut finished naturally, and paint one. So that gave me the second 2
carvings, and they were easier than the first 3.

Take a look at the finished carvings, please, and tell me which of the 5 you
think would make a good article. I have taken about 300 photos of the
process, so I can make an article out of any combination of them.
It would be best if you answer privately: donpbk at yahoo.com
Thanks a bunch-
