I have to agree with Byron on this one!  There should be specifics on size of holes for the base and overall size but details should be left up to the carver as to how it is finished.  I am sure the service people will love and respect each one as unique and theirs - not that one is better than another.
Is this project not to honor each individual that served our country and are we not individual creative people that want to show our thanks any way we can???   How sad we are put into boxes.
