I also use a 1/4" ship tooth usually 6" for all my roughing out. I can even
use these on my old Sears 3 wheel that doesn't cut worth a **&&&^ with
anything else. I have them welded at a local saw shop and it cost about 1/2 that
they do from a woodworking store. Call around to local saw shops and see if
they carry bandsaw blade stock, it is well worth your time.

Hi Jeff,

I have an old 12-inch Sears Craftsman band saw. For all my cutting, from
thick oak, walnut and basswood to thin stock I always use 1/4 inch wide skip
tooth blades (4 teeth per inch I think) or 6 tooth if I can't get skip tooth.

Carving friends,

I need to replace my bandsaw blade and would like to know what would be
best for cutting up Basswood and making roughouts.
Suggestions and sources are welcomed

Jeff Pretz
