Our group is also having a hard time getting the names & address's of the wounded heroes. I jot down the name of any I hear about on the news or in the paper and try to find an address for them, but it isn't easy. We have added the families of any Veteran who was killed in Iraq or Afghanistan to the recipient list for our canes. The names of those who were killed is easier to find, but the address's are still a problem. I send a letter out offering the Memorial Cane and wait for a reply. Some do and some don't...some are not ready to talk about it yet. I have received replies a year after sending out the letter from a family member asking if we would still provide the cane. We always will.
Contact Jack Nitz at the <EagleCane.com> site and he may be able to help you with a few names.

Subject: [Woodcarver] Canes for Vets
Hey Joe,
A group of carvers of Cobb County GA have carved several canes for the Vets. Thinking that we had an outlet for them. But it seems that we're unable to locate the proper persons at the VA or the VFW.
Can you or someone one else in the group give us a clue as to, who to contact.
Dick
