Thanks for your many years of effort towards the Woodcarving list.  You have done a masterful job on it, both keeping it running smoothly and free from smut etc.....

I know when I had heart surgery in 1998, the first thing I did every morning was check the messages from the woodcarver list.   I commented at the time and still feel that way "It is like a letter from home".......

Enjoy your time away from the list and keep turning out those wonderful carvings.   

Matt will do a wonderful job, continuing in your fine tradition.

  Gentle Subscribers:


  As the subject header indicates, a new owner is taking over the reins of the WWWoodcarver Mailing List.
  Hopefully this will happen over the weekend, and without any disruption to List postings. Each and every subscriber currently on this List will continue to be subscribed, as the List is simply changing hands, not starting over again. In fact the new owner uses the same ISP as the List and is able to have the List transfered to his account from mine. Sweet!


  This List was started roughly 12 years ago and has been attached to 4 List servers over that time. The current List Server, located at Pair.com, has been essentially trouble free and completely reliable. I expect the same quality service for the new owner.


  It has been an immense privilege to be owner/administrator for this List over the years. Through the List I've been able - like yourselves - to be connected to hundreds of carvers world-wide, sharing ideas, encouragement and friendship. Without this List my experience as a carver would have been isolated from the rest of the carving community. I've considered this List to be a gift to me from God and thus worthy of good stewardship. My hope is that the List prospers under the hand of another good steward.


  I want to thank each and every carver with whom I've had the privilege to meet and know over the years for your friendship and camaraderie. I will continue to be a regular subscriber to this List, for sure, and you will see my postings from time to time.


  Now for the announcement of who will be the new List owner....


  It is the one and only Matt Kelley - womeditor at comcast.net
  Look forward to his initial postings, which I'm sure will inform you all on his vision for the future of this List.
