I was a little bit amused to see my name on the list of new
subscribers, but I guess I deserve it for being a lurker for so long.
I have been a subscriber to this list for about ten years (I think it
was around the time work began on the Porch that was carved for Bill),
but I showed up on the list because I wanted to use a different
address for receiving carving list emails.

I've been carving for close to 30 years now. You can see some of my
work on my website.

I just wanted to add my thanks to you Matt (and Bill before you) as
well as all the other great contributors to this list. I have learned
a lot from reading it over the years.
