[Woodcarver] Vic Hamburger Update

Friends in Carving -

Many of you know Vic Hamburger, or know of him.   Vic is a long-time carver and member of the Woodcarver List, a charter member of the W3E Secret Pal Exchanges,  and an occasional contributor to WOM.

Vic has asked me to let our List family know that he is currently dealing with the aftermath of very recent brain surgery for the removal of a tumor.  In his own words:

"I am dealing with some issues that started Friday after Thanksgiving when I went into the ER and basically was blacked out until the following Wed, with only partial lucid moments for several more days.  I came home Sunday more than a week later, having suffered a seizure problem and recovering full body function and having a tumor removed from my right brain.  There is still bits of tumors in there to be handled externally, and the numbers for complete success are not terribly good over 2-5 years. However, given that I have never followed the crowd, or done what everyone else has done, I feel confident that I can survive given my faith, my families strength and the prayers of so many around the world already praying for me daily."

As you can see, our friend has a battle ahead.  I would ask that you keep Vic and his family in your thoughts and prayers.  If you would like to send him a card or note,  please contact me OFF LIST to obtain his snail mail address.

Despite all he has been through since Thanksgiving, Vic ended his note to me with these remarkably upbeat words:

"All my best to you and the entire Carving community for the end of year and the wonderful holiday season!  Holy Christmas and Happy New Year in particular; this has become a very special and amazing season this year, just being alive and getting back into such decent shape given where I came from just a week ago."

May we all have such grace in the face of adversity!
