Why would you order white birch from BC? Eastern birch is far superior.

Jan- what was the wood? So sorry to hear that it wasn't suitable. What a
terrible waste of time, effort, and money. Couldn't you do it in basswood?

It was Birch Bought in the BC slats 1'x3'x4"
Packed them in 3 bun dles of 75 lbs each and send to our town cost was
$165'
Ones here we had it planed and glued together
to make 4' x3' x 3" I did carve on it for aprox 40-45 hrs
But when I needed to do some fine detail it would come of in slivers
So I abandon it and am now looking for GOOD white basswood
and START ALL OVER AGAIN
But that's alright with me
Hope to have it finished in late spring
