I believe they are talking about one of those metal disks that has the chainsaw cutting teeth mounted to it and mounts on a small 4" hand grinder.

I would think a leather apron and some leather sleeves would be a good investment when using one of those.

I have used the grinder mounted chainsaw unit a number of times. It removes wood very quick & efficieintly, but you have to be on your toes at all times! It can "kickback" like a chainsaw and will do a lot of damage to body parts. Like any tool in the shop, learn how to use it right and then use what you learned. I have not had any damage done to me yet, but the tool has gone to places I didn't want it to.

was wondering if anyone has used one of these chain carvers that fits onto a grinder ? I got one for Christmas and have never used one of these things. It fits on a 4" grinder. Any help or info is greatly appreciated.. John in Az
