Yes Merrilee. I will be doing it at cherry ridge.? and yes I'd be happy to see you.?The plan right now is to offer perhaps 3 options for design, at least 10x12 maybe 11 x 14.? My concern will be finishing it in roughly 6 hours so it may be on the smaller side.? I also have to make it big enough so that a good carver won't rush thru it in a few hours.? We'll see.? I do teach now for the parks dept, but this will be a bit more structured.? I could use the experience.

Well Maura,
? Are you doing this?in PA this summer?? ANd if?so I - if we make it this?year - will be there!? So to answer your question I think having students put a pattern on the wood if they don't know how is useful but also takes more time away from the carving part.? Any of your suggestions would be GREAT!? Could you have all three choices or would it be only one for everyone to do?? How big would this?project be to be finished in 6 hours??? Oh my I hope you are doing this at Cherry Ridge so I can sit in!

I want to do a classical style relief carving which can be finished by most in roughly 6 hours of carving.? My original ideas were to do either, grapes and leaves, an acanthus leaf design or a traditional shell carving.?

?

Now my topics for discussion are, if you were to come and take my class.... first which design would you be more interested in doing and why.?? Would you rather the design already be on the wood or should I make my students transfer the pattern lines themselves?? Would you find this class interesting?? Any?else you can?think of?would be great and all suggestions will help alot.? Thanks

?
