Hey all y'all,

We're headed out to Cedar Rapids, Iowa to join the Cedar Valley Woodcarvers at
their annual show.  I like to call it "the best little show in the Midwest".

It's held at the Longbranch Hotel and Convention Center, 90 Twixtown Road, Cedar
Rapids, IA 52402 (319) 377-6386.

The show is open from 9 to 5 on Saturday, Feb. 7 and from 10 to 4 on Sunday,
Feb. 8.  They have a judged competition, a raffle with all sorts of donated
carvings, a banquet with a raffle and live auction and a whole lot of very nice
carvers who you can gain all sorts of knowledge from.

A couple of notables, besides ourselves, that I know will be there are John
Burke (Yes ... the one and only!)with a table full of tremendous carvings and
Denny Neubauer, the creator and maker of the famous "Denny" line of excellent
tools.  Rumor has it that Denny will be having some of his new, heavy-duty,
mallet-type tools for us to show off to you.

You can't use the Super Bowl as an excuse for not coming since it doesn't fall
on that weekend this year.  You know you're getting cabin fever all cooped up
for the last couple of months.  The weather is supposed to be marvelous over the
weekend in the Cedar Rapids area, so come on out and see us.
