      The other responses you received are all good, but here is another
thing to check. I had a hand piece that got so hot that I slid a piece of
heater hose over it to protect my hand. I later learned that too much grease
on the cable can leak down into the hand piece and cause overheating. I was
under the mistaken impression that if a little grease is good, then more is
better.  Unscrew the back off your hand piece, and remove the excess grease,
if that is your problem.
