[Woodcarver] Friendship cane exchange

For all of our list members who don't remember back about 5-10 years
ago, friendship canes were very popular with some carving clubs and on
this carving list.  I was part of the first cane exchange, along with 15
others including Matt Kelley, Loren Woodard, Bill Russell and a few
others who are still on this list!  My finished cane stands proudly in 
my office here at home as a reminder of the fun we had carving and 
sending segments to each other.

The basic segment is carved from a 3" tall by 2" square block of wood,
with a 5/8" hole drilled from top to bottom.  The segment can be carved 
with any design or motif that you desire, the sky is the limit.  The 
finished cane is a wonderful display piece for your carving collection.
