Hi all,
We just rolled in earlier today from the Roundup. I'm surprised so little
woodcarving mail and nothing on the Roundup. We were there for 2 days and
then took the long cut back home. George/Ann Reinfried , Jack Miller and
gang did a great job organizing and hosting. It ran very smooth and had a
wide variety of instructors. Many were instructors we don't get to see here
in Michigan.
I took one day with Pete LeClair. It was great !! If I remember 25% of what
Pete taught I'll be way ahead ! The second day I took a woodspirit class
from some guy from upscale, upstate New York --MIke, Mike hmmmmmmm
Bloomquist. Mike has unique way of doing woodspirits so I picked up some
good tips. His class was very regimented and he yelled at and picked on me
the whole class. This I could not understand !! :)
Mary Ann surprised me a took a 2 day woodburning class (yeah !)
I finally got to meet Maura and the famous Harold I kept hearing stories
about. Floyd was there maintaining a low profile and the famous Michigan Hat
lady (hope Mom is better) was there when Mom let her.
After Honesdale I met Chris Lubkemann the twig carver totally by accident
and spent a n hour or so with him 2 different days. Nice guy and very
interesting !
I'll have pictures up ASAP but know it will be awhile.
Bets to all !!
