[Woodcarver] Got a question for y'all ...

Very good answers, Donna.  

The important thing here is that the owners of the carpet were doing what they deemed necessary.  Some place would frown on anybody but them putting down some protective covering that could possibly do more damage than prevent, at least in their eyes.

In all cases talk to the managers of the any establishment used for carving.  Tell them what you're going to do, and let them decide what to do.  Let them be responsible for any damage done by any covering or not covered.
