Hi Matt,

Since retirement I been sleeping late.
Last night was my second clay throwing class. I'm having a lot of fun trying
to make a bowl of some sort and developed a new respect for the clay artist.
In 3 weeks we start the sculpture portion of the class.

As far as carving, I'm working on a 5-foot Last Supper for an altar in a new
church. I will be doing the pulpit and stations of the cross over the next
year while the church is under construction. I am teaching some disabled
veterans and looking for more who are interested in learning how to carve.
I'm helping my apprentices get their businesses going by working shows with
them. We did home improvement show one last weekend and I have another
scheduled for next weekend. I'm also planning GOW 2009 (week of September
28th). We are making a booklet of 'Tips That Made Me A Better Carver' for
the GOW. For a chance to win prizes, and get a booklet, send your tips to
me. See http://www.camperjohn.com/gow/ for more information on GOW 2009 and
how to submit your tips.
