Yep, some take a beating. I have a small piece of steel that I use right on the bench top for these small knives. It don't take much. Heat it up, pound on it, shape it to what you what. Let it cool and grind it to shape. Heat treat it and polish it up, Stick into a handle. and start carving. Takes maybe 20 +or- min.

Are they "all" made from masonry nails? Some of the wider blades have me wondering. I have visions of heating and pounding like an old time blacksmith!!
