Congrats on the sale. Gotta love those "green ribbons" <G>. Back when I got started "discretionary funds" were scarce, so it was great when I could use carving sales to buy tools and wood. I referred to them as "toys without guilt". still do. I can't quit my day job, but the toys have gotten bigger, more expensive, there are more carving trips and then there's my book "habit", so I'm making progress.

That's one very cool thing about woodcarving, is getting some of those "Green" ribbons.

I was working a home improvement show this weekend with Mike, one of my apprentices. I was excited when he received an offer of $2,000 on two of his butternut busts, that were unpriced and unfinished, he had on the table. All he has left was a few hours to finish them, a little cleanup and apply the sealer. But he tuned it down saying that he wasn't ready to sell them. It's nice to have that option too.
