Hi Larry,
The reason I got my DeWalt 788 was I got a job to cut out small leaf designs
in 3/4-inch thick oak plywood for a church that was being renovated. There
were 9 of these panels that went around the sanctuary behind the altar. Each
panel was 8-foot high by 3-foot wide. I made a large table, from counter top
material, that clamped to the existing saw's work table. The large table
needed floor supports on both ends to stabilize it. There were thousands of
small cut-outs where both ends of the blade had to be disconnected and fed
through the next hole. Over the 4 weeks that we worked on them Tina, my
apprentice, got a great leg workout from doing deep knee bends disconnecting
and connection the lower portion of the blade thousands of times. As it
turned out that was the most profitable job I did that year.
