Good Evening All!

I have to comment on what a fantastic writer Mike Bloomquest is (and also a great carver and a fantastic teacher). I just finished reading his article about NEWR in the Woodcarver Online Magazine. I could not stop smiling from the wonderful memories he brought up since as mentioned I have been there all but 1 of the 7 years it has been going on (thanks to my mom and her tummy surgery we missed 1). Reading it made me smile remembering those days gone by and the new friends I made that year and all the years since. We did and do have such a great time at the roundups, classes and that other one he said that I can't spell. It doesn't seem possible to make such good friends in such a short time and yet you do. You learn so much not only from the wonderful volunteer teachers but from the other "students". It is a wonderful homey place to go, visit, carve, talk and learn. If you can't make NEWR then try The Evart Roundup in Michigan or Joe Dillet's GOW in Illionis or the one Chris and Jim Odea (and others) put on in Flordia. I even here there are some out West. I have definately grown as a person and a carver because of my time spent in the company of other great carvers and I can't wait until I am retired so I can visit ALL OF THEM EVERY WHERE!!! Thank you to everyone that has helped me on my adventure of learning to carve and develop my skills whether in person or on this list where everyone is so generous with their precious information and talents!

Ok enough of the mushy stuff! :) Good night - happy carving
