Thanks for the kind words and your feedback. John - thanks for that link. Great information there. Though my understanding from several other NA Flute resources is that it IS in fact illegal to market any flute as a "Native American Flute" if the maker is not a registered member of a recognized tribe.
In respect of that (not that I am selling them - though I hope to one day if they're good enough) I try to refer to them as NA Style Flutes. This gives credit where it's due for the basic design (Native Americans) and avoids any implied claim of being NA myself.
I have harvested several more bamboo culms from a stand across the Hudson River from me so I hope to make several more soon. I'll post a pointer to my blog here (with photos & sound clips) when I do. In addition - Mike B kindly routed 4 blanks from mahogany that I aquired at the previous NEWR that I've not yet made - so I'll be posting something about my progress with those this fall.
