[Woodcarver] Ol' Don update

Dear Friends,

Thanks for all of your messages of good wishes and prayers. They have meant a  lot to Don and me. We had our first meeting with the oncologist today. Don will have several more scans tomorrow to find out if the cancer has spread any where else in the body. They will be inserting a port and then we meet with the oncologist again on Friday. Since this kind of lung cancer is aggressive they will begin chemo therapy next week.
The doctor is puzzled by the lesions in the kidneys. He says lung cancer seldom spreads to the kidneys. But it is unusual to have both lung cancer and kidney cancer develop at the same time. Hopefully the scans tomorrow will answer the kidney question.

We will be canceling all carving and camping obligations for the next 3 months. All further commitments will be reevaluated later.
